Rules & Regulations

  1. OFFICIAL RULES: Kansas Athletics, Inc. (hereinafter “KAI”) will conduct a 50/50 Raffle (each, a "Raffle") at University of Kansas athletics events at David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium and other locations as specified by KAI at a future date. Only one Raffle will be held during any particular game. By participating in a Raffle, entrant (individual purchasing a raffle ticket) agrees to be bound by these Official Rules and by the decisions of KAI, which shall be binding and final as to all matters related to the Raffle. Each Raffle is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and is void where prohibited.
  2. ELIGIBILITY: At time of entry, entrant must be at least 18 years of age. KAI and its representatives have the right to request photo identification from any person desiring to enter the Raffle. Raffle is void where prohibited by law, rule or regulation. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. Full-time, benefits eligible employees of KAI, selling groups, faculty, staff, and cadets, including their immediate families (parents, spouse, sibling, and children) are NOT eligible to win the Raffle.
  3. PURCHASING TICKETS: On any date that a Raffle is occurring, Raffle tickets ("Tickets") will be sold in areas outside and inside of David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium through the third quarter or the time at which a decision is announced that the game or its completion has been postponed to a later date or canceled. Tickets may be purchased as follows: 3 tickets for $5.00; 10 tickets for $10.00; and, 60 tickets for $20.00. Tickets will be available for purchase in person only and must be purchased with cash in U.S. dollars. The minimum purchase is 3 tickets for $5.00.  There is no limit to the number of Tickets an individual may purchase. Entrant will receive a receipt corresponding to his/her purchase. KAI nor selling groups are not responsible for printing errors in any Raffle-related material or any misdirected, incomplete, lost, late or illegible Tickets or other errors or problems which may limit an entrant's ability to participate in or win a Raffle. All Ticket purchases shall be final, and no refunds or replacements will be issued. Tickets are only valid for the drawing held on the date of purchase.
  4. RAFFLE TICKETS ARE NOT TAX DEDUCTIBLE: According to the Internal Revenue Service, amounts paid for chances to participate in raffles, lotteries, or similar programs are not gifts and, therefore, a ticket purchase does not qualify as a deductible charitable contribution.
  5. THE PRIZE: One half of the amount of the net proceeds from the sale of Tickets to each Raffle (as determined by KAI in its sole discretion) shall constitute the Raffle's prize ("Prize"). The other one half shall be retained by KAI and distributed to a local non-profit.
  6. SELECTION OF THE WINNING TICKETS: One Ticket will be randomly drawn utilizing automated software to determine the winner of the Prize. The holder of the winning Ticket need not be present at the time of the drawing in order to win. The winning Ticket will be announced in the fourth quarter of Kansas Football (or within fifteen minutes following any postponement or cancellation announcement) and listed on the KAI 50/50 Raffle webpage (ukansas.ms.5050central.com).
  7. CLAIMING A PRIZE: Within seven (7) business days of a drawing, the holder of the winning Ticket in any Raffle must do the following, in person: (1) present the winning Ticket; (2) complete and sign the Prize Claim, Release of Liability, and Publicity Consent ("Release"); and (3) complete and sign all applicable tax forms. When claiming the winning ticket at David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium during a Kansas Football home game, please head to Section 10 (Fan Information booth) to claim your prize. Winning Ticket holders will receive a certificate verifying their winning ticket after completing steps 1 thru 3 on day of drawing.  If not claiming on day of drawing, Ticket holder may complete these steps after presenting the winning ticket during a scheduled meeting with KAI personnel at a later business date within 7 business days from the date of the Raffle. To schedule a meeting please contact the KAI Marketing Dept. at 785-864-6189, to schedule an appointment to visit the Business Office on a business day between 9:00am and 5:00pm. Once those steps have been timely completed, KAI will mail a check, within 45 days, to the winner identified on the Release at the address identified on the Release. The amount of the check will equal the amount of the Prize (50% of the event’s net proceeds). For security and safety reasons, no cash payments will be made. In the event that the holder of the winning Ticket: (a) does not complete steps (1) - (3) above; (b) is ruled ineligible for any reason; or (c) refuses the Prize, the Prize will be forfeited and will be retained by KAI for distribution to a local non-profit. In the unlikely event that an error or problem in the administration of a Raffle results in more than entrant holding a Ticket that has the winning number, the Prize will be split evenly between the entrants. A Ticket is void and its holder is ineligible to win the Prize if there is sufficient evidence, in the sole discretion of KAI, that the Ticket was improperly issued, printed in error, counterfeited, stolen, illegible, altered or subject to other deficiencies, and KAI will have no liability with respect to any such Ticket.
  8. TRANSFER AND RESALE OF TICKETS: Entrants may opt to give away their Tickets to other eligible persons, but in doing so the entrant waives any claim he/she might otherwise have to the Prize. KAI shall conclusively presume that the person who is in possession of the winning Ticket is the lawful owner of that Ticket and that Ticket's winning number. KAI shall not make, nor have any duty to make, any inquiry whatsoever into the circumstances under which the person holding the winning Ticket came into possession of it. Purchasers of Tickets may not re-sell their Tickets to others, and may not knowingly give Tickets to others for the purpose of allowing those others to re-sell such Tickets. All Tickets that have been resold in violation of these Official Rules shall be void and all individuals who re-sell, purchase, or receive Tickets in violation of these Official Rules shall be ineligible to participate in the Raffle or to win the Prize.
  9. ODDS: The odds of winning a Raffle depend on the number of Tickets purchased.
  10.
